• Swollen wheel arches and beefed-up bumpers would make a GR Sienna stand out.
  • The upgraded minivan has been rendered with wheels just like the GR Yaris.
  • Positioned behind the new blacked-out front bumper is a large intercooler.

The launch of the GR brand has reinvigorated interest among Toyota enthusiasts, owed mostly to the GR Yaris and GR Corolla, and to a lesser extent the BMW-based Supra. Gazoo has several cars in the pipeline, including a revived Celica and MR2, but this rendering points somewhere stranger.

The project draws loose inspiration from Abimelec Design’s own 707-hp, Hellcat-powered Chrysler Pacifica, a rendering that proved popular enough that Tavarish drew up plans to actually build one. Curious what the Toyota Sienna would look like wearing GR hardware, Abimelec imagined the ultimate Japanese family hauler. The current van already wears a sharp face, and it turns out the sheetmetal takes well to a few modifications.

The work begins at the nose, where the grille’s usual horizontal slats give way to black mesh fronting a large intercooler stamped with GR-Four branding. Abimelec Design has also added a striking splitter to the front of the minivan, while a set of new front air intakes also catches the eye.

As with any real GR product, the minivan also sits on a set of sporty black wheels, with enlarged brakes and red calipers. You’ll also find extended side skirts and flared front wheel arches, contributing to a much meaner look. As standard, the Sienna already has swollen rear arches, but they have also been widened, giving the van a much more evocative stance on the road.

Could We Get A GR Sport?

Other modifications include the fitment of a lightweight carbon-fiber roof and a new blacked-out rear bumper with dual tailpipes.

As cool as a product like this would be, it’s highly unlikely it would ever be made. In general, those in the market for a large minivan aren’t looking to buy one that can drift around corners like a rally car and drink down fuel like there’s no tomorrow. Perhaps the closest we could get is a GR Sport trim for the Sienna, something already offered in other popular Toyota models like the RAV4, Hilux, and Land Cruiser 300.
