Dumb And Dumber BMW M3 Street-Racers Fail To Notice Cop Behind Them

We can understand not picking up an undercover cop in a beige Taurus, but a blacked out Explorer on your tail at a red light? Come on…

You’d think that spotting a large black SUV with a spotlight in your rear view mirror would be easy-peasy, and that it would stop you from doing something silly in your BMW M3.

Then again, if your attention is directed elsewhere, you’re likely to get in trouble, just like the people driving this pair of BMW M3s, unaware of the Ford Explorer-based Police Interceptor Utility trailing them.

Alas, these two German super-sedans still lined up at the light and began racing each other as soon as the “green” flashed. Hot on their heels, the police, pulling them over a little bit further up the road.

We couldn’t help but notice that the BMWs didn’t seem to be going all out, at least not directly off the line. It’s probably why the Interceptor had no trouble keeping up as all three cars accelerated past the intersection.

Hopefully those drivers will think again before using a public road as their own personal drag strip, that is, if they still have their licenses.

Those all-wheel drive twin turbo police interceptors are pretty damn quick.

    • Jason Miller

      That’s just a standard V6 Explorer.

      • LJ

        How can you tell?

        • It depends…this SUV is available with a base 3.7L V6 cranking out 305 HP or optional twin-turbo 3.5L V6 with 365HP…either way, these things are fast…

      • Navy P. Morroccan ✓ᵛᵉʳᶦᶠᶦᵉᵈ

I think it is twin turbos.

    • brn

That was my takeaway from the video. The Ford Police Interceptor Utility had no problem keeping up with an M3, even if the article try to suggest otherwise.

  • Jason Miller

I like the Dumb and Dumber reference, and not because they are dumb for doing that.

    • LJ

Holy crap… the joke completely went over my head.

      • BGM

I missed it too man and I love that movie! Slow clap to the author, well done sir.

    • Jason Miller

For anyone that missed it: Remember the tuxedo’s?

  • S3XY

A CHP Charger tried to get in front of me at a light in my Tesla and I punched it to the speed limit. He gave up, got behind me aggressively, then veered around me and took a sharp turn through a red light and looked at me with a mean face when he drove by me LOL

    • javier

huh…. i try not to [email protected] with the police

      • Auf Wiedersehen

Oh! No no!, he was playing XBOX in his bedroom. It’s cool..

    • Jay

😂🤣 nice. Theses two are just dumb. There are police car cues all over that thing, I always check my mirrors and surroundings before doing something stupid like this. Yes I admitted it.

    • Axiom Ethos

Damn you’re so cool trying to block the police from getting ahead of you.

  • no25

excuse my ignorance but I’m seriously curious: when you’re at a light and it turns green, are you allowed to rev off like that as long as once you reach the speed limit you stay at it? I’ve heard of people getting pulled over for doing that (like these BMWs obviously accelerated pass the speed limit – so was that why they were pulled over or because of the way they took off?)

    • Xandao

at least here in brazil we have a paragraph in the law that basically says its forbiden spinning tires, abrupt accelerations, demonstration of expertise (lol) or other circumstances that characterize street racing.

    • brn

Many jurisdictions have laws (or ordinances) specifically against drag racing, which this would qualify.

Others have laws against excessive acceleration, which is pretty subjective. A MN example: “It shall be unlawful and prohibited by this section to speed start or accelerate any motor vehicle in a manner exhibiting unnecessary speed on any public or private roadway, including driveways and parking lots, within the city. Acceleration of any kind which causes squealing tires and the like shall be deemed to be inherently hazardous and contrary to public safety. The squealing or screeching sound emitted by tires or the throwing of sand and/or gravel by tires so accelerated shall be prima facie evidence of the violation of this section.”

    • dolsh

There are at least a couple Canadian provinces where they would be labelled street racing, and would carry with some pretty severe punishment (7 day immediate suspension and impounding of car + up to $10k fine + impound fees). It’s the same law that’ll have you hurting if you go 50km/h over the limit.

  • JR Glide

Living in such a plain boring place… must make you dumb…

  • John Doll

Hilarious. BMW drivers are annoying, arrogant and a-holes.

  • Vassilis

  • Ryan Golding

This happened quite a while ago actually, owners cars are on instagram, believe they only got a ticket for something like fast takeoff or something like that.

  • It’s cute how they both have the same car, with the same rims and same body kit but different colors LOL.

  • Trackhacker

This look like Canada? The law there states if you get pulled over for “stunt driving/street racing” they tow away your car and keep it for 7 days as well as driver license, while also giving a fine of 10,000. The insurance rate will also be so high that they will be better off walking unless they are millionaires.
