The careless driver of a BMW 5-Series in Los Angeles has managed to not only damage their own car but also wreck a Toyota Corolla Sedan and a Prius.

Footage of the incident was first uploaded to YouTube and at the 40-second mark in the clip, the cammer passes the black 5-Series later involved in the crash. Fast forward a few seconds and the BMW comes back into view, accelerating past the cammer in a bee-line for the rear of the Prius directly ahead.

The driver of the 5-Series then briefly taps the brakes and starts to slowly merge to the right, seemingly in an attempt to drive between the Prius and the Corolla Sedan. Unsurprisingly, there wasn’t enough room and the BMW ends up slamming into the rear-quarter of the Corolla.

The force of this impact briefly bumps the 5-Series up into the air before it slams back down onto the side and front of the Corolla and ricochets into the side of the Prius. As the BMW continues to skid down the freeway, the Corolla collects the Prius and both cars end up hitting the concrete divider on the road. Both Toyotas soon come to a rest while the BMW slides backwards down the freeway before eventually coming to a stop.

It’s the kind of crash that you wouldn’t believe was possible had it not been caught on camera. Fortunately, the occupants of the Corolla and Prius don’t appear to have been injured in the crash.
